I had such a wonderful time capturing beautiful family moments at the Nusa Dua Beach Hotel & Spa. Sarah reached out to book a family photoshoot during her stay. The original date was already full, but she kindly agreed to move it to another day. It happened to be her birthday, what a perfect way to celebrate by gathering her loved ones in Bali for a fun and meaningful photoshoot. Happy birthday, Sarah!

Nusa Dua Beach Hotel & Spa is one of Bali’s classic resorts, full of charm and character. Though it’s an older property, I’ve always loved hotels like this because they often have spacious, beautifully landscaped gardens that newer hotels rarely offer. The mix of tropical greenery, Balinese architecture, and calm beachfront setting makes it a perfect backdrop for family photos that feel both timeless and full of warmth.

Best Time for Family Photos at Nusa Dua Beach Hotel

Nusa Dua Beach Hotel & Spa opened in 1983 and was designed around the idea of a Balinese palace. Its nine hectares of gardens, carved stone details, lily pond and lawns stretch down to 150 metres of white sand beachfront, so a family gets many different backdrops without leaving the property.

The same gardens and beachfront also made a romantic backdrop for a proposal. See Arry and Michell’s proposal at Nusa Dua Beach Hotel & Spa.

Early morning is the best time here, when the lawns are quiet and the light is soft. Late afternoon works well too if you prefer golden light on the beach. A 60-minute session covers the gardens and the beach comfortably. For a birthday gathering or a bigger group, choose the 120-minute family photo session.
