Jinal contacted me to arrange a photo session for her and her partner at Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, Ubud. Mandapa is one of my favorite luxury resorts in Bali, especially in Ubud. Unlike many new hotels that focus on maximizing land for more rooms, Mandapa preserves wide green spaces that blend beautifully with the surrounding nature. The resort sits along the Ayung River and offers a calm atmosphere with lush gardens, rice fields, and forest views, making it an ideal location for an intimate couple photo session.
She booked a two-hour session, even though I had suggested that one to one and a half hours would already be more than enough. I work quite fast and prefer to keep sessions relaxed and enjoyable. I do not like stiff poses or making couples feel uncomfortable in front of the camera. My approach focuses on natural movement, genuine interaction, and capturing real moments in a casual and fun way. If you are looking for heavily posed and rigid photos, my style may not be the right fit for you.
