Meeting familiar faces is one of the most rewarding parts of being a bali wedding photographer. This year I had the joy of reconnecting with several past couples. Danielle and Ryan were one of them. I photographed their wedding thirteen years ago in a private villa in Pecatu. It feels like it happened only a moment ago. Now they returned with their son, and we created new memories together.

We spent a one hour morning session in Nusa Dua. The light was soft and perfect for a relaxed family shoot. They played on the grass, shared warm moments, and enjoyed the calm water by the beach. Their natural connection showed in every frame. Watching them interact reminded me why I enjoy documenting weddings and families. Seeing a couple move from newlyweds to caring parents is something truly special.

The session felt light and full of laughter. I enjoyed every minute with them. I feel grateful for the chance to meet them again as a growing family and to capture moments they can cherish for years to come.

Wishing this lovely family all the very best ahead.

Best Time for a Family Photoshoot in Nusa Dua

Nusa Dua is one of the easiest places in Bali for a family photoshoot. The water is calm, the lawns and gardens around the resorts are well kept, and the early morning light is soft, as it was for Danielle and Ryan’s one-hour session.

Nusa Dua is just as lovely for couples. Have a look at this beachfront proposal at Nusa Dua Beach Hotel & Spa.

For a family with a small child, I recommend a 60-minute morning session. It is long enough for a walk on the grass and some time by the water, and short enough to keep little ones happy. See the 60-minute family portrait experience, or look at our family shoot at Nusa Dua Beach Hotel & Spa for a resort setting in the same area.

There is a second chapter like this one: a family reunion in Bali, 13 years after the wedding.
