Elissa contacted me for a Bali pre-wedding photo shoot with one clear request. She wanted something fun, relaxed, and different. Instead of focusing on a classic romantic style, she preferred a photo session that felt playful and honest.
However, even on the shooting day, there was still no fixed decision about the photo locations. At that point, we only knew the starting place and where the day would end. Because of this, we decided to keep everything open and enjoy the process.
From the beginning, the idea was simple. Rather than planning poses or romantic scenes, we would photograph whatever we discovered along the way. As a result, the Bali pre wedding session quickly turned into a fun photo walk filled with laughter and surprises.
First, we passed through a local market. There, instead of posing romantically, the couple interacted naturally with their surroundings. Meanwhile, the colors, textures, and everyday life added character to the photos. After that, when we crossed the street, we photographed the street exactly as it was. In other words, the focus stayed on fun moments, not perfection.
Then, something unexpected caught our attention. We noticed an officer standing nearby in full uniform. Without overthinking it, we took the photo. At the same time, it showed that a Bali pre wedding does not always need soft poses or romantic expressions. For clarity, he is a real officer with a real weapon. However, it appears shorter in the photo because he was standing on a small lower step that is not clearly visible.
As the day continued, the energy remained light and enjoyable. Meanwhile, the couple stayed relaxed because there was no pressure to perform or look romantic. Eventually, we reached the beach in the late afternoon. At that moment, the atmosphere naturally slowed down.
Finally, we ended the Bali pre wedding session at the beach with a beautiful sunset view. Although the setting became softer, the approach stayed true to the day. It remained fun, natural, and full of personality. Overall, this Bali pre wedding showed that pre wedding photography does not always need to be romantic. It can be playful, spontaneous, and real. I am truly honored and glad to have been their photographer, and I wish them all the best for their journey ahead.
